I need a digital camera

I keep seeing things that I would like to share with you:

• A stray cat nesting in a cardboard box of weeds in my backyard (the same weeds I pulled up a few weeks ago).
• A bike covered in TP (spotted while walking to Dupont Circle).
• A very buff and almost certainly gay man wearing a t-shirt that said, "Gardeners do it with hoes."

Any recommendations? I want something small, with good resolution, a nice lens and cheap.
