Knotting

I'm drawing a blank today. I am out from under several very annoying work tasks, which is good news. I'm about halfway through the last one that's been hanging around for a million years (no one to blame but myself).

Knitting is going very well. Ha. I'm almost done with my first scarf. TR said, "Who's it for?"

I said, "Me!" Then I explained, "It's my first project so it's kind of ugly. And it's purple, so it has to be for me." I'm actually hoping for a few more cold days so I can wear it.

My other project is a baby blanket for my grand-nephew . This was a foolhardy endeavor, but I'm in too deep to turn back now. The first indication of the foolishness of the undertaking was the fortune I spent on yarn. No call for this at all, but that's what happens when you buy at the fancy yarn store. I've ordered some yarn off the internet for future projects. That was over a week ago and I'm still waiting...so sometimes I guess you have to buy the fancy yarn.

Anyway, I got started making the baby blanket. It just uses the two basic knitting stitches (knit and purl) so there's no "technique" involved. But what is involved is following a pattern that changes every other row for 36 rows. And then, repeat six times. Damn. What did I get myself into? And I'm using circular needles, which sounds scary, but I'm pretending they're not circular, so it's merely confusing.

I managed to screw up the pattern several times so it will be a rather imperfect and yet fancy baby blanket. Oh well. And I may or may not finish it in time to bring it to New Jersey.

As far as dating goes, there is absolutely no change on that front. Some days I like Kansas a little less, other days I like him a bit more and most days I wonder how much longer until I cut him off for good. Fantastic! And that third date with Jumper? He's yet to get back in touch, so that may be off, which may be just as well.

Oh well.

Grateful for: occupying my time.

Drop me a line.
