Some of you shared my conundrum the other day about how to get to bed at a reasonable hour. Here's a little tip: if you get home after 10pm, like I did last night, don't turn on the tv.
What did I do instead? I sat in front of the computer for about an hour, checking email and reading blogs. I was in bed by 11:30 and asleep about 10 minutes later.
I'm not an insomniac. If I can get myself into the bed, I usually fall asleep quickly. On rare occasions, I toss and turn--say if I drink coffee in the afternoon or I'm leaving on a trip early the next day--but usually, it's lights off, head on pillow and I'm out. The problem is that I don't always feel like getting into the bed, even when I'm tired. It's pretty clear that I find tv-watching rousing. So, no more late night tv watching. Heh. Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it.
