Little lessons

Things I learned this weekend:
  • Sometimes a depressing movie can cheer you up because you know your life will never be that bad. Brokeback Mountain is not one of those movies.
  • The dim sum in Gaithersburg is better than the dim sum in Chinatown (not a surprise).
  • It's just as hard for me to end an IM session as it is for me to get off the phone.
  • When your mother spends a lot of money sending you things you do not want and that you did not ask her to send, thank her promptly or receive an angry email the next day.
  • If you stay up late to watch Saturday Night Live, do not stay up even later for no reason at all.
  • While Saturday Night Live is not hilarious these days, Horatio Sanz's imitation of Aaron Neville was eerily spot-on (the rest of the skit was so-so).
  • Deadwood is a really good show.
  • It's not much fun to watch the Big Game in a bar surrounded by fans of the opposing team.
Things I haven't figured out yet:
  • What my mother is really upset about. I have an inkling, but I don't know what to do about it.
  • How to get to bed at a reasonable hour.
  • When I'm going to have time to write a real post.
  • If having no food in the house will lead to weight loss.
  • When I'm going to do my taxes.
Things I would like to post when I have time:
  • More on the Mom situation.
  • Details of my Super Bowl watching experience--with pictures!
  • Pictures of Chinese New Years lions.
  • Movie reviews of Match Point and Brokeback Mountain.
Grateful for: a productive day at work. Drop me a line.
